A Touch of Gentleness is a not for profit organisation whose mission is to bring the powerful transformative energy of ‘gentleness’, ‘connection’, ‘belonging’ and ‘touch’ back to society.

We are a community of volunteers that seek to spread gentleness through the power of a therapeutic hand massage and by truly listening. In doing so, indivdiuals create a safe and healing space for another.

As we emerge from the pandemic, A Touch of Gentleness restores the power of safe, healing touch and connection in human society. To do this, the organisation trains volunteers to become ambassadors of gentleness, to deeply listen and give therapeutic hand massages that can be tailored and adapted to meet any person’s needs. The hand massages are then offered by our volunteers wherever they are needed, including in communal spaces, communities, care homes, hospices, shelters for the homeless and at events.

The volunteer training days and therapeutic hand massages are all imbued in the energy of gentleness. When people receive the hand massage they are held and heard, experiencing a deep safe space of healing and connection. The volunteers who train in this will also experience the physical and emotional benefits that living in gentleness and giving and receiving touch offers. So the healing begins from the inside out.

The organisation deeply values every individual volunteer and gives a sense of belonging, meaning and purpose. We are taking this mission further and A Touch of Gentleness now provides workshops, and wellbeing training tailored for schools, organisations, and workplaces.

As the A Touch of Gentleness family grows and touches more lives, it will provide the much needed healing medicine of ‘connection’, ‘belonging’ and ‘safety' to the world.
