By connecting through gentleness, we transformed what is often called 'Blue Monday' into a day that restored connection, offered peace, spread hope and joy.
If you would like to leave us a review about the day or an event you attended you can do so HERE.
Recordings of some of the day's events are available below, with more being added this week.
Thank you.
What a beautiful way to touch the world
"Thank you for a wonderful day on Monday.
I wanted to express my gratitude for all your hard work and to everyone involved ... it has helped me notice and hopefully contribute to more acts of kindness both at home and out of the house. Thankyou again.
Kindest wishes with great hope for all the world can be."- Sheridan
Gentleness Day is an annual awareness day, set for the third Monday in January, with a warm invitation to take part under the banner #GentlenessDay.
The purpose of the day is to bring more compassion, connection and calm through the energy of gentleness to ourselves, our homes, our work, and our communities. The first Gentleness Day took place this year, on 19th January 2026 as a hopeful counterpoint to the myth of “Blue Monday”.
'When you're feeling down and blue its gentleness that'll get you through'
Gentleness day will now take place annually, giving more people an opportunity, and reminder, to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover the quiet strength we all carry inside.
The Third Monday in January henceforth becomes
The mission is simple and profound:
bring connection, joy and peace back to the heart of society through everyday acts of gentleness.
The next Gentleness Awareness Day takes place on:
Monday 18th January, 2027
Be part of the Gentleness Community:
We are keeping our facebook group open to keep the conversation around gentleness going between now and the next Gentleness Day:
Practical, experiential, creative, supportive and reflective free online and in person events. All our shared events are hosted by people whose lives and work embody the energy of gentleness. Each workshop will be inviting a deeper exploration of gentleness, with simple and meaningful ways to bring more of it into your life and thus the lives of others.
If you would like to sponsor next year's event, or would like to be inolved as a host offering an in-person or online event ... or if you have any other ideas and suggestions for Gentlness Day 2027, we would love to hear from you:

Everyday Acts of Gentleness
A beautifully simple collection of ideas to bring more presence, calm and connection into your day.
Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength wrapped in peace.

It is the courage to stay open in a chaotic world, to meet difficulty without adding more harm, and the strength to slow down, when everything around us urges us to rush.
When we lean into gentleness, something shifts.
Our breath deepens,
our shoulders soften,
and we arrive fully in the present moment -
that precious place where connection happens.
Gentleness is both a soothing balm for ourselves, and the medicine our world needs to meet division, stress, and disconnection with courage and compassion.
When we choose gentleness, we recognise the shared humanity within us all.
Gentleness, like a diamond is multifaceted.
It has a unique energy, frequency and tangible qualities that can help us navigate a sometimes hostile and chaotic world.
💛 Join us on 18 January 2027 for #GentlenessDay and together let's be the change 💛
“Do not underestimate the power of gentleness.
Gentleness is strength wrapped in peace,
and therein lies the power to change the world.”
- L.R. Knost
