Since 2022, A Touch of Gentleness has been quietly growing, rippling out and touching all areas of society.
Daring to show how natural and joyous it is to connect and care for one another, our volunteers regularly support a whole host of charities and organisations including care homes, food banks, hospices, recovery hubs, prisons, shopping centres, support groups for people with poor mental or physical health, shelters for refugees and the homeless, friendship groups, and wellbeing events. We also attend many one-off community events.
As we grow, so does the help we need!
We have many meaningful opportunities.
Our organisation deeply values every individual volunteer and aims to give a sense of belonging, meaning and purpose to those who join.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and there are many ways you can get involved. Whether you can offer a couple of hours each month to help with administration, support us at events, or take on a more regular role helping to coordinate volunteers and our community activities, your contribution can make a meaningful difference.
We are also actively exploring funding opportunities to help us grow and sustain our work. On occasion, this may create paid, funded roles, which will be advertised here alongside our volunteering opportunities.
FUNDED ROLE:
Volunteer Support and Outreach Worker – East Sussex
This is a wonderfully social and meaningful role that includes:
- Working in partnership with the CEO and Local Events Coordinator(s)
Being a point of contact and support for volunteers.
- Nurturing a sense of community for volunteers in the local area.
- Gentle leadership in action.
Hand Massage Training Day
For those who wish to offer our hand massages somewhere in their local community.
No previous massage experience is necessary, just an open heart and a desire to bring more gentleness, presence and compassionate connection back to the world.
Half-Day Workshop
If you would like to bring more gentleness and touch into your life and the lives of your family and friends, but don’t wish to volunteer with us, we also run a half-day workshop.
The cost of this workshop goes towards helping fund our community work.
