This January, we are rewriting Blue Monday
19th January becomes
A day to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover the quiet strength we all carry inside.
Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength wrapped in peace.
It is the courage to stay open in a chaotic world,
to meet difficulty without adding more harm,
and the strength to slow down,
when everything around us urges us to rush.
When we lean into gentleness, something shifts.
Our breath deepens,
our shoulders soften,
and we arrive fully in the present moment —
that precious place where connection happens.
Gentleness is both a soothing balm for ourselves, and the medicine our world needs to meet division, stress, and disconnection with courage and compassion.
When we choose gentleness, we recognise the shared humanity within us all.
Together, we can transform the bluest day of the year into one that restores connection, offers peace, and spreads hope.
💛 Join us on 19 January 2026 for #GentlenessDay 💛
“Do not underestimate the power of gentleness.
Gentleness is strength wrapped in peace,
and therein lies the power to change the world.”
- L.R. Knost
There is no single “right” way to mark Gentleness Day. Gentleness meets each moment with care, presence, and integrity.
We will be sharing thoughts about gentleness, giving ideas of how to bring more of the energy and qualities of gentleness into your lives, relationships and organisations.
Here are some ways to get involved:
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for inspiration and resources leading up to the day.
Share your own moments of gentleness using the hashtag #GentlenessDay.
Invite friends, family, colleagues, and schools to take part through kind actions, mindful pauses, or gentle conversations.
“In a gentle way,
you can shake the world.”
- Gandhi
Help us make January 19th a day that reminds the world:
Gentleness is Strength.
NB. A Touch of Gentleness does not visit individual homes and always works in visiblity of others.
